19th Dec 2012 - Weir Abstraction

This is the last shot I took at Coalbrookdale Weir. It's a very long (110 sec) exposure in low light. There is a street light above right of weir which is contributing to some of the colour. PP was in Lightroom & Colour Effects Pro.

I like the abstraction of the slow exposure with the water sprays almost becoming spotlights. What looks like a stone column on the left of the image is actually one of the main water flows over the weir.

18th Dec 2012 - A Weir Detail

17th Dec 2012 - Coalbrookdale Furnace Weir. The water form the weir was used to drive the water wheels which powered the Coalbrookdale Company furnaces and foundry.

This is a single 70 second exposure shot at dusk.
